There will be traffic delays and detours on South Kihei Road on Sunday between 4:00 AM and 7 AM.

Please watch for 1800 runners who will mostly be on the bike path shoulder of the road between Wailea and Launiupoko Beach until noon on Sunday.

Please use the Pi’ilani Hwy to get to Wailea between 4:00 AM and 7 AM on Sunday rather than South Kihei Road. The Maui Oceanfront Marathon will run north from Wailea on South Kihei Road, North Kihei Road, and Hwy 30 to the Launiupoko Beach area.

The Maui Oceanfront Marathon (AKA: MOM) events on January 19, 2025, start in the south parking lot of the Shops at Wailea, run south in front of the Wailea Beach hotels 1 mile, turn around by the Fairmont Kea Lani 4100 Alanui Dr, and run back 25 miles to the Launiupoko Beach area south of Lahaina.

The oceanside lane of Wailea Alanui Drive will be coned off for the runners between 4 AM and 5:30 AM. Traffic will be back to normal by 5:30 AM

For those of you who have to get up and go to work on Sunday morning, January 19, please plan on leaving the Wailea hotels before 4 AM or after 5:30 AM.

Southbound traffic from the Lahaina bypass area should watch for runners inside the tunnel between 6:30 AM and 11 AM.

The Lahaina bypass exit to the south H30 to Launiupoko Beach is closed for the finish line of the races.

Race traffic can approach the Launiupoko Beach Finish Line area from Hokiokio Place (Puamana Park) and Kai Here Ku Street. (Launiupoko Beach Park).

Southbound traffic on H30 at Launiupoko will be closed for the race until approximately 1 PM.

Surfers and fishermen are welcome to park on H30 north of Launiupoko Beach.

There will be traffic detours in Maalaea from 6:30 to 6:50 and a traffic delay on Hauoli Street in Maalaea.
